The US Consular Residence in Lagos was adorned with glamour and prestige as notable politicians and celebrities graced the commemoration of the 247th independence anniversary of the United States.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that among the distinguished guests was Peter Obi, the second runner-up in the recent presidential election, who arrived in his signature black attire.
The event began with David Greene, the US Ambassador to Nigeria, warmly greeting the attendees.
In addition to Peter Obi, the gathering included Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun state, and Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation magazine and a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Several other political stakeholders were also present at the event, including Douye Diri, the governor of Bayelsa, Umo Eno, the governor of Akwa Ibom, and Toyin Saraki, the wife of Bukola Saraki, the former Senate President.
