Obi Tells Tinubu to End Killings, Criminality

The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, Peter Obi has urged the Federal Government to put in measures to stop the spate of killing across the country.

It would be recall that about sixty-two persons were killed in separate attacks in Sokoto and Zamfara on Saturday.

Also in May, over 100 people were reportedly killed in attacks by gunmen in Plateau state.

Reacting, Obi condemned the killings, describing them as a waste of human lives.

He explained that the continued spate of all forms of criminality as witnessed recently in Plateau where over 120 people were killed, 50 killed in Sokoto, 31 in Zamfara, and 25 in Benue, are very depressing and extremely worrisome.

“These fatalities are not just numbers, but wastage of sacred human lives; of people who lived among us as family members, relatives and friends,” Obi said.

“While appreciating the efforts of governments at all levels and security agencies, I respectfully appeal that they do more to arrest this situation before it deteriorates further,” he added.
