Kanunta Kanu, younger brother to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Thursday said that Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, and Ohanaeze Ndigbo are responsible for the crisis in Izombe town. Ohanaeze Ndigbo is an apex Igbo socio-cultural group in Nigeria which represents all Igbo communities within and outside the country.
Kanunta Kanu made this claim via his known Twitter handle.
“@NGRSenate, killings of innocent #Biafrans and the destructions of their properties in IZOMBE, OGUTA LGA of IMO STATE by HOPE UZODINMA and OHANEZE NDI IGBO led by Prof OBIOZOR must stop because, you can’t sacrifice the blood of #Biafrans for a new state in #Biafraland @UN,” Kanu wrote.
POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that Izombe community in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State is still counting its losses after soldiers invasion of the area earlier this month.
Sources say two security operatives and a resident were killed, while at least 70 houses,15 vehicles and 25 motorbikes were razed in the crisis.
Governor Uzodinma subsequently visited the scene. He blamed the ugly incident on the recklessness of bandits whom he said have chosen to foment mayhem without recourse to morality.
