Onana Set to Leave Manchester United as Club Agree Deal for Goalkeeper

Manchester United have agreed a loan deal with Trabzonspor for goalkeeper André Onana.

Transfer reports on Saturday confirmed that a verbal agreement has been reached between both clubs, though the final decision rests with the 29-year-old  shot-stopper.

Onana has struggled for game time this season, making only a single appearance in United’s Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby Town. Manager Ruben Amorim has favoured Altay Bayindir in all three of the club’s Premier League fixtures to date, while the summer arrival of Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp for £18.4 million has further limited his prospects.

Football insider Fabrizio Romano disclosed that the terms of the loan are settled, stressing that “it’s only up to the goalkeeper” to approve the switch.

Onana, who missed much of pre-season due to injury, had earlier insisted he would fight to reclaim the No. 1 shirt.
