Ondo 2020: Details of meeting between Tinubu and Akeredolu emerge

Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State says he met with the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu and his counterpart in Lagos, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to brief them on his plans to secure second term in office.

In a post on his Twitter page on Friday, the governor noted that he also presented his running mate in the election, Lucky Aiyedatiwa to the APC leader after consultation.

Akeredolu, who was accompanied by a former governorship aspirant, Olusegun Abraham, who later stepped down for him, added that he also asked for the support of Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu in order to win the October 10 governorship election.

He said: “Today, I visited our leader, Asiwaju Tinubu, and my brother, Jide Sanwo-Olu, to formally introduce my running mate and consult with them on the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State. We are one in APC and our party is stronger than ever.”

This newspaper recalls that Akeredolu was declared the winner in the APC governorship primary after polling 2,458 votes to beat his rivals in the party primary.
