One person has been confirmed dead in a building collapse in Idi Araba, located at the Mushin area of Lagos State.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed that the victim was trapped under the debris of the collapsed building.
According to Ibrahim Farinloye, the coordinator of Lagos Territorial Office for NEMA, the deceased was one of the construction workers at the building before its collapse on Sunday.
Farinloye also stated that the building collapsed at about 3.30 pm on Sunday, May 18, 2025.
“So far, one person has been confirmed dead, while three others have been rescued alive.
“Search and rescue operations are ongoing continue,” he wrote in a group platform with journalists.
