Former Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, has reacted to reports that he bas been nominated as one of those to serve as ministers in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu cabinet.
There has been rumours purporting that the immediate past Benue governor made the cut in President Tinubu’s highly anticipated ministerial list.
But Ortom, in a statement issued by his media aide, Terver Akase, described the report as urging members of the public to disregard it.
“The attention of the immediate past Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has been drawn to the speculation on social media that he has been nominated for a ministerial appointment. We urge members of the public to disregard the report as it is false and misleading,” the statement read.
Ortom was recently quizzed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged misappropriation of government funds during his term as governor.
