Osinbajo may declare Presidential Bid after May 29th – APC Sources

Top sources in the All Progressive Congress (APC) party revealed that Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, may formally announce his rumoured presidential ambition after May 29, 2022.

“He will be announcing after May to avoid causing any distraction to his current assignment as the VP,” the source alleged.

“Actually, left to him, he is not interested, but a lot of people are behind him. No one can predict the outcome of his ambition since he doesn’t have the kind of exposure and money that (Bola) Tinubu has. Many people are worried about Tinubu’s poor health.”

The APC party insider also stated that the people behind Osinbajo’s presidential ambition “are just a cross-section of old and serving legislators but across the country.” Despite Osinbajo’s propositions as a strong contender, Tinubu has reportedly won the popularity contest when it comes to federal political appointments and other tempting offers.

“Since Buhari is not picking a side between the two men, the APC presidential primary will be an open contest between them. Tinubu has the political machinery and structure. Osinbajo has neither.

“Tinubu is credited with playing a pivotal role in the emergence of Buhari as APC presidential candidate and instrumental in Buhari’s victory over the then President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015. Tinubu also was instrumental in nominating Osinbajo as Buhari’s running mate,” the source added.

Tinubu is said to remain the frontrunner to win the APC presidential nomination and Osinbajo’s presidential ambition is going to face a tall hurdle during the APC presidential primary.

  1. He better not try it, because if he do, he will not only fail woefully, he will also give bad names to his unborn children because people are going to label him as another LADOKE AKINTOLA that betrayed OBAFEMI AWOLOWO, and this will be too bad of PYO.
