Osun APC Caucus Warns Oyetola Against Relaxing Curfew As Coronavirus Cases Rise

Following the rise in the number of Coronavirus cases in Osun State, the elders’ caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has admonished Governor Gboyega Oyetola against relaxing the stay-at-home order.

Politics Nigeria reports that the Southwest State is presently locked down with 14 cases of the disease confirmed.

The caucus in a statement issued and signed by its Chairman, Sola Akinwumi, disclosed that the order will safe the entire citizenry from contracting the pandemic.

“It is our belief that the safety and good health of every citizen in this state remains uppermost in the mind of Governor Oyetola as clearly demonstrated in all his health programmes particularly the building of health centres in the 332 electoral wards.”

“For the above to work perfectly absolute compliance and obedience by the citizens to the state government’s directive and that of the National Centre for Disease Control becomes imperative.

“The sustainability of all these transforming strides calls for loyalty, commitment, dedication and positive disposition of our party members and all citizens of the state irrespective of our political party inclination because no other state can be claimed as ours, the caucus insisted.

“The timely actions of the federal government under the headship of President Muhammadu Buhari towards the control of COVID19 pandemic is equally commendable while at the same time we advise that these efforts should not be relaxed hence stay home and stay save under God’s care”

The group also pledged to support the APC led government of Mr Oyetola in all his programmes towards taking the state to greater height in the comity of states in the country.
