The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command says it has successfully prevented a young man from taking his own life after he climbed a high mast at ASO Radio in Katampe on Thursday morning.
According to the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the incident occurred around 09:10 a.m. when concerned citizens reported the distressing sight of the man, identified as Shuaibu Alhaji Yushau, perched high atop the mast holding a placard.
”With much professional persuasions from the police operatives, the man later identified as Shuaibu Alhaji Yushau was prevented from taking his own life.
”He claimed to have been observing the mast for about a week before deciding to climb it.
”Suspect is presently in police custody and in a stable condition. Further development will be communicated in due course,” SP Adeh wrote.
