A serving Nigerian police officer, Inspector Haruna Abdurrashid Marafa, has been identified attending an All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting in Kaduna.
This is despite the prohibition on active police officers engaging in political activities.
Photos posted on social media show Inspector Marafa wearing a party stakeholders’ tag and his name listed among APC stakeholders from Ikara Local Government.
“Is it normal for policemen now to join political parties? We have many of them in Kaduna, even soldiers. They now join APC and publicly attend stakeholder meetings.
“We had our stakeholders meeting last Thursday at Congo Conference Hall, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and one Inspector Haruna Abdurrashid attached to CID in Abuja was present as a member.
“He attended the APC Kaduna Zone 1 stakeholders’ meeting with us. Ikara LG Chairman even added his name among the stakeholders of APC from Ikara,” a source told Sahara Reporters.
