The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has commenced its zonal general aptitude test for the 2025 basic military training course (BMTC) 46 recruitment exercise.

The service said more than 20,000 applicants are participating in the exercise nationwide.

In a statement on Sunday, the NAF said the test is being conducted across 15 zonal centres.

The centres are located in Sokoto, Minna, Kaduna, Kano, Bauchi, Maiduguri, Yola, Makurdi, Jos, Ilorin, Ipetu-Ijesa, Enugu, Benin, Port Harcourt, and Ikeja.

The Air Force said the nationwide spread reflects its commitment to inclusiveness, equal opportunity, and a transparent, merit-driven recruitment process.

It said the approach allows qualified Nigerians from all parts of the country to compete fairly, adding that the turnout demonstrates the sustained confidence of Nigerian youths in the service as a disciplined and professional institution.

It added that the exercise aligns with efforts to attract capable and resilient young Nigerians amid increasing security demands.

Speaking on the recruitment, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, said the process is guided by fairness, integrity, and strict adherence to standards.

“The Nigerian Air Force remains firmly committed to recruiting the best candidates by merit, as the quality of our personnel is fundamental to operational effectiveness and the successful execution of our constitutional mandate,” he said.

Aneke said the aptitude test is a critical step toward building a motivated and mission-ready force and assured Nigerians of the NAF’s continued dedication to supporting internal security operations and protecting lives and property.
