Oyo: Buhari attacks Makinde over ‘poor handling’ of Coronavirus

A senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Fatai Buhari, has alleged that the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde is handling Coronavirus with levity.

In a radio program on Thursday in Ibadan, Buhari said rather than respond to the menace adequately, governor Makinde is playing politics with the pandemic.

“We are in a very dangerous stage, particularly in Oyo. The second stage is the most deadly aspect of Coronavirus. That is where the virus is transferred as the people mingle. Unfortunately, we did not lockdown in Oyo. So, anybody infected with the virus believes they can find their way into Oyo and have a free day.

“You need to have sound health before thinking about the economy. If you have the economy and those to benefit from it are not there, what have you achieved. You have an alternative to the economy but not public health,” he said.

  1. Buhari may be planning to send a Mohammadu from his Fulani tribe as new Oyo Governor since that is his trade mark as he sees nothing good in other Nigeria tribes. Sorry sir, this is no Military regime.

  2. Mr Buhari, please try to support your aguements with numerical data relative to what happen in other APC state to discover your stand lacks merit. Hence, void.
