During a workshop organized by the Ministry of Establishments and Training for civil servants on Monday, Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun, the State Secretary to the Government (SSG), spoke on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde, who said his administration has trained over 9,000 civil and public servants to enhance service delivery.
In the message, Makinde urged the civil servants to be dedicated to their work, maintain the civil and public service’s ethics as well as put in their best effort to ensure the growth and development of the state.
The governor said: “When I took over the mantle of leadership on May 29th, 2019, I assured the good people of Oyo State that I will bring governance to the doorstep of all and sundry. One of the ways in achieving this is through the state civil service, which is in charge of the implementation of policies for the state government.
“To this end, it is my conviction to put in place competent, qualitative, dedicated, committed, responsible, and incorruptible civil service that will be able to stand the test of time.”
In an earlier statement, the Department of Establishment and Training Director, Alhaji Ayansiju Lawal, disclosed that 195 employees were recruited from all ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to undergo training on effective time management, emotional intelligence, and effective customer service.
Makinde promised that the state’s workforce would continue to be trained and retrained so as to make it more productive.
