Nnamdi Kanu: Ejimakor sends fresh message to IPOB leader’s supporters

Aloy Ejimakor, a lawyer to the detained leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has informed supporters of his client to storm the court on Kanu’s trial date in April in their traditional wears – Ishi-Agu and Ishi-Odum.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Ejimakor stated that people have the right to wear the attires to court.

“8th April: Onyendu’s next hearing date is a date for Ishi-Agu or Ishi-Odum. Wear it with a swag. It’s your right!” Ejimakor said via his known Twitter handle on Sunday evening.

This newspaper recalls that a drama ensued at the Federal High Court Abuja last week when the Department of State Services (DSS) and Justice Binta Nyako, insisted that Kanu cannot wear an outfit with ‘lion head’ design.

The outfit that caused debate in court and subsequently online, is known as ‘isi agu’ in south-east Nigeria. It is a traditional garb that is usually worn on special occasions.

Previously, Nyako had directed the DSS to allow the IPOB leader to have a bath whenever he wants, change his clothes, eat properly and practice his faith.

Since his arrest in Kenya last June, Kanu has always appeared in the Abuja court in the same Fendi wear he was seized in.
