The Lagos State government has announced that it has recorded fresh COVID-19 related deaths in its isolation centers.
In a series of tweets via his Twitter handle on Tuesday, state Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, said one of the deceased was a 45- year old Nigerian man who returned from India in January.
The commissioner added that the second death involved a 36-year-old female with a severe underlying health condition. Abayomi noted that the deceased had no history of travel or contact with any COVID19 confirmed case.
He, however, said the state did not record fresh cases of COVID-19 as at 20th of April, after the state recorded 70 cases on Sunday night.
Abayomi revealed that the total number of COVID19 related deaths in Lagos now stands at 16.
