The Pan Nigeria Presidency of Igbo Extraction, PANPIEC has revealed that some northern groups have endorsed the emergence of an Igbo President in 2023.
In a statement sent to POLITICS NIGERIA on Wednesday, signed by the spokesperson of PANPIEC, Chukwudi Ibegbu, the groups called on Igbos to put their house in order and trust the North. The statement read;
“The North will back an Igbo in 2023, several Northern groups have assured. The groups in separate releases asked the rest of Nigerians to support the move as its the mood of the nation today.”
“The groups include the NORTHERN YOUTHS ASSOCIATION, AREWA UNITED YOUTHS CONGRESS, AMALGAMATED PEOPLES OF THE NORTH, NORTHERN PEOPLES CONGRESS, AND AREWA PROGRESSIVES. Their spokesmen, Mallam Aminu Shettima, Alh Ibrahim Mehmet, Dr Junaid Kilba, Alh Yinuna Ibrahim and David Lot called on Ndigbo to put their house in order and trust the North. The North wants justice, peace and unity of the nation, the groups asserted and this will happen if an Igbo becomes President in 2023, the groups noted.”
“They also backed the PAN NIGERIA PRESIDENCY OF IGBO EXTRACTION as the umbrella body to achieve the aim and called on all Nigerians to support the group.”
“They also pledged to support the activities of PANPIEC.In his reaction the spokesman of PANPIEC, Uche Erondu thanked the Northern groups and assured them that their dreams for 2023 will work with the support of all Nigerians. He appealed to them to go and preach the message to all Northerners, the Emirs, Talakawas, Chiefdoms, Elders etc. He thanked some Northern leaders that are now at the vanguard of the project”.
