Patience Jonathan wades into Rivers crisis, sends message to Wike, Fubara

Patience Jonathan, wife of former president Goodluck Jonathan, has waded into the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State.

In a video shared by AIT and seen by our reporter on Friday, the former first lady urged Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, to give peace a chance.

Mama Peace, as she’s fondly called, further advised that it was time for governance and as such, they should sheath their swords.

“We at this point plead that election has come and gone, and now is the time for governance,”  she said.

“As a peace advocate, I will like to call on the waring parties in Rivers State, to shield their sword and give peace a chance.

“Knowing fully that no development can take place in an atmosphere of chaos. As a political office holder, remember that power is transient and it will end someday.

“Therefore, holding onto power after expiration of your tenure is an invitation to violence and anarchy,” she added.
