The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun has levelled accusations against the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleging that the opposition party is spreading falsehoods about the state governor, Ademola Adeleke.
According to the PDP, the APC is exhibiting signs of unease regarding Adeleke’s performance and is resorting to dishonest tactics to undermine his administration.
Speaking on behalf of the PDP, Chairman Sunday Bisi urged the opposition to demonstrate integrity by acknowledging defeat even before the 2026 election.
He emphasized that Adeleke’s achievements have rattled the APC, highlighting significant progress made in various sectors within a relatively short period.
Bisi stated, “Within one and half years in office, Governor Adeleke has delivered what the former government could not achieve in four years.
“The current government has initiated extensive development projects in education, health, water, infrastructure, and workers’ welfare, surpassing expectations.”
He added: “A party which failed to pay half salary debt and pension arrears while in office is not ashamed to point accusing fingers at an Adeleke government that is clearing all those debts and uplifting the living conditions of workers and pensioners.
“A party under whose watch several pensioners died is reprehensibly attacking an Adeleke government that is not only paying pensioners regularly alongside the debt but has also enrolled all those pensioners in state health insurance schemes to cater for their health needs.”
