Dr Isaac Nkole, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia State, warned the party against allowing the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, to re-enter the party.
Nkole said Kalu is “in a desperate move to return to the PDP having discovered that his days in the All Progressive Congress APC are numbered” in a conversation with newsmen on Thursday. He considered his return would not be “in the best interest of the party”.
“He knows he is already at the end of the road in APC as the party’s structure is off his grip. His political fate is sealed because his faction of the party is not the one recognised by Abuja,” said Nkole.
The statement came from Nkole amid a visit by a high-powered PDP delegation led by Senator Samuel Anyanwu, at his Aso-Villa, Abuja home.
The PDP chieftain also added that the Senate Whip has allegedly reached out to key party stakeholders to let him return to the party. He warned party leaders in the state and at the national level to be careful, as he described Kalu as “spoiler and political liability”.
Apart from Kalu, Nkole advised leaders to look out for Governor Dave Umahi who allegedly wants to return to the party as well.
“They have all discovered that they made the wrong decision by joining APC in the first place. That’s why they all want to return but PDP is tired of political liabilities and desperados without ideology,” claimed Nkole.
Most of political leaders in Nigeria are shameless, have no integrity. They are decamping from one political party to others for their own selfish interest
