PDP Governors Tell Buhari, INEC What To Do About Edo Poll

The people of Edo state must be given a free, fair, and credible governorship election on September 19, the Governors’ Forum of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said.

The forum made this known in a communiqué at the end of their virtual meeting conveyed by the chairman of the forum and governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

According to the governors, President Muhammadu Buhari, security agencies, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) must ensure that the election is not rigged or marred by violence.

The governors noted that all stakeholders must play impartial roles to ensure a transparent process, in Edo and Ondo States. They also advised PDP supporters to stay vigilant and ensure that all votes are counted and all votes count.

According to the communiqué, the governors also resolved to constitute a legislative liaison committee and legal affairs committees to ease and fine-tune governance.
