Nwoba Chika Nwoba, the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, has dismissed rumours that he was suspended by the party’s hierarchy.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the Ebonyi state chapter of the PDP on Tuesday said it has suspended Nwoba; its deputy chairman, Barr. Ifeanyi Nworie; alongside the party Treasurer, Obinna Iteshi; and one other person for one month.
Purported Chairman of the party, Tochukwu Okorie, disclosed this during a press briefing at the party secretariat, located along Enugu expressway Abakaliki.
But reacting on Wednesday, Nwoba said Okorie is in no position to sanction him, asking the public to disregard the statement from him.
According to him, the authentic Chairman of the PDP in Ebonyi State is Barrister Ifeanyi Nworie.
“I heard I was suspended as Publicity Secretary of PDP in Ebonyi State. I asked who did the suspension and I was told it was one Tochukwu Okorie who used to be chairman of PDP in Ebonyi State. I asked to be shown the signatories. I noticed only himself signed it. I sighed and walked away,” Nwoba wrote on his known Facebook page.
“When human beings suspend me, I will consider the next option, not when a man who has about three issues with EFCC and police all bothering on fraudulent management of people’s finances as a land agent in Abuja and as one time Chairman of PDP in Ebonyi State.
“Someone who sold a piece of land to multiple buyers in Abuja and was dragged to EFCC and gradually refunding the victims through court order; someone who can’t say the allegation of diversion and conversion of PDP money to the tune of over one hundred million naira to personal coffers was a false accusation couldn’t have had the temerity to declare hard working members of the SWC of the party suspended. In few days, Tochukwu Okorie shall be in cuffs over these criminal outings of his. He’ll never go free. He can’t do away with our party’s money and enjoy the benefits of a good citizen.
“So, disregard the statement from him. We weren’t suspended. The acting Chairman of PDP in Ebonyi State is Barr Ifeanyi Nworie. Tochukwu Okorie is enjoying a one month suspension benefit midway into which EFCC will grab him. He hasn’t denied committing the fraud. Police in Abakaliki four days ago grilled him for 12 hours and he couldn’t defend himself. This was the character pronouncing suspension on four industrious party SWC members. Isn’t this laughable?
“He’s trying to sell PDP forms to unsuspecting members for local government elections that PDP hasn’t taken a decision whether or not to participate in. Party members should disregard him and his gluttony for money.”
