Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has urged his supporters to stay calm and law-abiding, assuring them that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would emerge victorious, even if the rerun were to cover the entire state.
He vowed to remain committed to executing development projects in the state, despite the Appeal Court judgment which sacked him as governor and declared the March 18 election inconclusive.
Lawal made the pledge while addressing a group of party faithful in Gusau shortly after his return from Abuja.
“We have nothing to fear; we are confident that the people voted for us before, and they will vote for us again,” Lawal declared.
“Our determination to transform the state is unwavering, as evidenced by the numerous ongoing developmental projects across Zamfara,” he added.
“Our goal is to rewrite the story of our socioeconomic development,” he said.
On his part, the state PDP acting Chairman, Muktar Lugga, commended the party faithful for their overwhelming support, describing the rally as a testament to their love and loyalty to the state administration.
Recall that the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja had declared the governorship election held in Zamfara on March 18, inconclusive.
