Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has paid a courtesy visit to former President Goodluck Jonathan, as part of his New Year engagements.
The visit comes on the heels of his meeting with former military president General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida in Minna, Niger State.
Obi took to social media platform X on Thursday to share photos from the meeting, expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to discuss pressing national issues with Jonathan.
According to Obi, he caught up with Jonathan in Abuja.
He said, “Finally, on returning to Abuja yesterday, I caught up with my dear elder brother and Former President of Nigeria, His Excellency Goodluck Jonathan @GEJonathan, to also wish him a happy new year. I also had the opportunity of discussing germane national issues with him.
“President Jonathan’s patriotic approach to national issues remain admirable. I appreciate his kind advise and guidance and I wish him and his family a happy and productive year ahead.
“With the visit, I concluded my New Year engagements for the day.”
Jonathan served as president from 2010 to 2015.
