Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has said that contrary to what critics say, the ‘Obidient’ movement “is not about my tribe or my religion, and it is not an Igbo agenda”.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that in a Twitter post late on Sunday night, the presidential hopeful said he has no intention of Christianising Nigeria.
He wrote: “In the life of every nation, there is a turning point. For Nigeria, that time is now; a time to save Nigeria, save our democracy and give the Nigerian youths hope. The OBIdient Movement has been the arrowhead in the take back Nigeria mission.
“My role in the Movement is that of a Focal Point. As I’ve always stressed, Nigeria remains a secular state. As such, the movement is not about my tribe or my religion, and it is not an Igbo agenda or in any way, to Christianize Nigeria.
“My aspiration is for a new Nigeria, where the children of a nobody will become somebody. A nation anchored on national interests, and not sectional interests; where the entire youths from the six geopolitical zones will have a sense of belonging in the affairs of their country.
“No one should ascribe ethnic or religious colouration to the OBIdient Movement. Nigeria is one and my ambition is to become the President of a United and Indivisible Nigeria.”
What Obi-Datti stands for as stated herein is the main reason we are attache to the movement, we are tired of the status quo, the lies and deceit of the old politicians. We want a new order a change to a better Nigeria where our youths will not run away to other country but remain to repair and build the ruin left behind by self serving leaders. A country where foriegners would be delighted to come and do investment to creat more jobs. A country devoid of war, tribalism, nepotism and divide and rule tactics. A country that should belong to all us with equal opportunity and which we can be proud of and be ready to defend in an emmergency.

Please let your teaming supporters be aware of these laudable ideas and kindly advise them to take it easy with those that are yet to see it in that noble way. You have proven your worth by laying the STRUCTURE that critics were saying you don’t have with 8 Senators and still counting and 38 house of Representatives members and still counting with one1 Governor. Let your supporters know that Everything has to be done gradually. Slow and steady wins the race.
