Diran Onifade, the Head of the Peter Obi-Yusuf Datti Media Office, has described the call by Festus Keyamo (SAN) for the Labour Party presidential and vice-presidential candidates to be arrested as a joke no Nigerian should take seriously.
POLITICS NIGERIA had reported that Keyamo, the official spokesperson for Campaign Council of the President-Elect, Bola Tinubu, petitioned the Department of State Services (DSS) demanding the arrest and prosecution of Messrs Obi and Datti for comments he described as incendiary and capable of causing rebellion in Nigeria.
In a petition addressed to the Director General (DG) of the DSS and dated Thursday March 23, Keyamo, also the minister for state, Labour and Employment, said in a post-election period such as this, there is a need to soothe frayed nerves, lower the temperature and begin the healing process.
But reacting to the complaint by Keyamo and subsequent call for arrest, Onifade said Keyamo’s petition was unworthy of a response.
“Such a call is a huge joke nobody should take seriously,” Vanguard quotes Onifade as saying.
