Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party for the 2023 election has said his “only offence” is that he decided to contest the presidency.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Obi, who was reacting to a series of allegations against him while speaking to Northern stakeholders in Kaduna on Monday, said many people regarded him as a good man when he was a running mate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in 2019, but some persons are trying to de-market him because of his presidential ambition.
“In 2019 I was a good man, the only offence I committed now is because I want to be president,” Obi said.
The interactive session which held at the Arewa House in Kaduna is organised by a coalition of six groups from the North including the Arewa Consultative Forum, Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, Northern Elders Forum, Jamar Matan Arewa among others.
The event is part of the decision of the Labour Party presidential candidate to engage all segments of Nigerian society with his campaign message of national unity and prosperity.
