Some Supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC launched a protest against Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola following his rift with the party’s national leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The Protest which held on Sunday, witnessed the presence of several party faithful who chanted against the former Oyo governor that he was ‘politically dead’.
The protest took place in the Alimosho area of the state. They were armed with banners with different inscriptions such as, ‘We reaffirm Alimosho as Tinubu’s country’, ‘We are not ingrates, Asiwaju remains our man’, and ‘Say no to BATCO’.
Some of the protesters also displayed and danced with wooden coffins, depicting the end of the minister’s politics in Lagos. Aregbesola got into hot water last week after openly deriding Tinubu and criticising him for wanting to play ‘God’ in Osun Politics.
He was bitter over Tinubu’s continued support for the State Governor and his successor, Gboyega Oyetola. It’s common knowledge that Aregbesola and Oyetola don’t see ‘eye to eye’.
Aregbesola’s candidate, Moshood Adeoti was roundly defeated by Oyetola at the APC Guber primaries last Saturday.
We don’t need old men rule us in this country again. Tinubu or ever he called himself should go back and seat down
Rauf Aregbesola is a former Governor of Osun State, and not Oyo State.
