Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have confirmed the arrest of three suspects in the death of Dr Vware Diaso at the General Hospital in Lagos.
Spokesperson of the Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest on Saturday, refused to disclose the suspects’ identities but assured that the police had begun investigating the case.
Earlier, Politics Nigeria reported that Diaso, a medical house officer, died due to the injuries she sustained when the elevator she was in crashed in the staff quarters of the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos.
The incident happened on Wednesday evening when the deceased, who lived on the 9th floor of the building, wanted to meet a dispatch rider who had brought her the food she earlier ordered online.
Reports revealed that the hospital elevator that killed the late Diaso crashed from the 10th floor to the ground floor.
It was also gathered that the late doctor was rushed to the hospital’s emergency ward for treatment but eventually died.
Meanwhile, Governor Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has vowed to get to the root of the doctor’s death through a thorough investigation.
