The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) in Osun state has paraded 16 suspects for robbery, kidnapping, ritual killing and unlawful possession of arms.
The suspects include a 22-year-old Mustapha Olawale, accused of defiling a three-year-old girl in Ifetedo, Osogbo.
Among the items recovered from the suspects are a locally made pistol with live cartridges, a motorcycle, a car, and cutlasses.
The police vowed to charge them in court upon completion of the investigation.
Meanwhile, the police command in Ogun has arrested a man identified as Taye Agbaje for allegedly killing his younger brother’s two children in the Kemta region of Abeokuta.
In a statement issued on Monday, the state police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, said Agbaje allegedly murdered Promise, aged nine, and seven-year-old Testimony.
The accused, in a shocking circulating video, had openly confessed to violently attacking the two children in a secluded area and abandoning their bodies there.
During his interrogation, Agbaje, now in police custody, denied any intention of using the two children for rituals.
