
Some suspected assassins have been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Niger State.
The spokesperson for the Niger Police Command, Superintendent of Police, Wasiu Abiodun said the police in multiple breakthroughs made some arrests in the state.
Abiodun noted that the assassins were arrested alongside some thugs, illegal immigrants during a police raid.
In a statement issued in Minna, Abiodun said a police patrol team in collaboration with vigilante members stationed at Railway Crossing, Beji in Bosso LGA, intercepted two suspects — Muhammad Mohammed (40 years) and Mohammed Usman (35 years).
According to Abiodun, during the operation which happened at about 12.45 am, a search led to the recovery of a locally made pistol, a live cartridge, and N13,000.
He added that the suspects during an interrogation confessed to being hired by their client – one Dogi of Beji.
They said they were contracted to assassinate a man around the railway crossing area for N13,000 as transport and an additional N100,000 as service charge.
The police revealed that the suspects’ motive for the active was revenge because the victim had married Dogo’s ex-wife.
Abiodun also stated that the police have launched strategies aimed at arresting Dogo.
