The Lagos State Police Command has released on bail popular Nigerian musician, Azeez ‘Naira Marley’ Fashola, former gubernatorial candidate in Lagos state, Babatunde Gbadamosi, and his wife.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, disclosed this to POLITICS NIGERIA on Tuesday.
Elkana said the trio were released after they met their bail conditions, adding that they would be arraigned today (Wednesday).
He said: “They (Gbadamosi, his wife and Fashola) are on bail because the court did not sit today (Tuesday) and we could not keep them beyond the constitutional time given. They all slept in the cell yesterday (Monday) and they have all been granted bail and asked to report back tomorrow (Wednesday) so that they can be arraigned.”
This news medium had reported that Naira Marley, Gbadadmosi and his wife were part of those that attended a birthday party organised by a popular actress, Funke Akindele-Bello, for her husband, Abdul Rasheed Bello, at their home at Amen Estate in the Ibeju-Lekki area of the state.
The trio had on Monday reported at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, and were detained after the police asked them and others, who attended to report at the SCIID.
It was gathered that they will be arraigned by the state government before the State Magistrates’ Court in Ogba.
