Deputy Spokesman of the House of Representatives, Philip Agbese, has removed Governor Hyacinth Alia’s portrait from his office.
According to the member who represents Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency of Benue State at the Federal House of Representatives, the governor is not fit to be a leader.
This development comes amid a reported rift between Alia and Akume over political issues in the state.
“Today, I’m removing the portrait of Alia from my office because he’s not fit to be our leader. He has no respect for democracy, no respect for the Constitution,” Agbese stated with conviction.
However, when he pointed to the portrait of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, he proclaimed him as the true leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State.
“He (Akume) remains the leader of the party and the father of the state, he’s a man of fairness, equity, and that’s why we love him, and he has earned his respect,” Agbese said.

Hhhhhhmmmm. Politicians and their nonsense
Shame on you people, when ever anyone don’t want to approve APC corruption documents that person becomes unfit to be a leader,
God has approved his leadership
Nigeria politicians and movies mmmm
Childish behavour. Coming into the limelight for the first time and overdoing things. If not fada, who is Agbese? Who could have voted him into that house? Madness of the highest order.
You have over reacted over this issue. The state is governed by the governor, not the SFG. Don’t make us think that because of the old method of cash flow that workers are not paid for several months but politicians are enjoying that you and your group are looking for. No more OLD BENUE sharing formulas. We can see, here, and monitor your body languages. WORK WITH GOVERNOR ALIA.
Leadership should be about working to actualize collective goals that guarantee the welfare of all the citizens which is what Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia is doing.
Since his assumption of office, salaries of workers are promptly paid, construction of about 20 streets/roads and more within and outside the state Capital in the best of standard is in progress while some have been completed, distribution of relief materials to IDPs was done efficiently with the beneficiaries applauding the the unusual manner in which relief materials were duly distributed to them, 100 buses purchased and handed over to Benue Links already, renovation of Benue State House of assembly which was in a pitiable and deplorable state shall soon be completed, our roads are now free from illegal check points which were a major impediment to IGR, and lots more.
If one should say the the Rev. Father is not qualified to be his leader, it therefore means such a person does not have the interest of the masses and the progress of Benue at heart but his own selfish interest.
As for us the masses who are more interested in the development of our dear Benue State, we are proud of what the governor is doing. He is doing Benue well.
I pray God protect and guide him to deliver the state from the captivity which has be recently proven to be occasioned by few privileged stakeholders.
