Popular Plateau cleric, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has issued an emotional appeal to United States President Donald Trump, warning that Nigeria’s security crisis is worsening and requires urgent international help.
His message centred on a desperate call for intervention, stressing that the country is facing a threat that could spiral beyond control.
In a video shared on his X handle on Thursday, Dachomo pleaded with Trump to “come quickly before they (terrorists) finish us.”
His tone reflected growing fear across many communities in Plateau and neighbouring states, where residents continue to grapple with recurrent attacks, displacement, and rising casualties.
The cleric said the level of insecurity has reached a point where many citizens no longer feel safe in their own homes.
According to him, the appeal is not driven by religious bias but by the urgency of protecting Nigerians across different faiths.
He noted that Muslims in affected areas are equally experiencing severe hardship, insisting that the crisis is becoming unbearable for everyone.
Dachomo also claimed attempts were being made to silence his voice. He alleged that his Facebook account was recently disabled, saying those responsible were trying to cut off his access to the public.
He warned that if help does not arrive soon, “you will not hear my voice anymore,” linking the development to efforts to shut down critical voices calling attention to the ongoing violence.
The Plateau cleric has been one of the most vocal figures drawing attention to attacks on rural communities in the Middle Belt.
His latest call adds to the pressure on authorities to respond more decisively to the wave of killings and land invasions reported in the region.
