A former Political Adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Ojo Victor Asein, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to rejoin the All Progressives Congress (APC).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the defection of Asein, also a former Local Government Chairman, was officially announced recently at a rally in Sabongida-Ora, the headquarters of Owan West Local Government Area (LGA).
Present at the rally was a former National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, who was there to welcome Asein and his supporters.
“We are here to receive and reallocate a very beautiful room in our political family house to my son, Ojo Asein, and several others who have come with him,” Oshiomhole said.
“The wealth of a leader is that your word must be your bond. I want to assure you that we will be back again and we will continue from where we stopped and Edo will prosper. United we will win, we are united now, they are divided,” the former Labour leader added.
Speaking at the event, the defector, Asein, expressed his happiness at coming back “home”.
