The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has extended its congratulations to Nigerians on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir and urges Muslims to seize this occasion to pray for the triumph of justice and the divine will in the nation’s affairs.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that in a statement released on Wednesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, praised Nigerians for their resilience and called on them to maintain patience, hope, and trust in God despite the current economic, social, and security challenges plaguing the country.
“Our party urges Nigerians not to lose sight of the true meaning of Eid-el-Kabir amidst the hardships and uncertainties they currently face. This celebration calls for selflessness, unwavering trust, and submission to the will, authority, and command of Allah in all aspects of life,” the statement emphasised.
The PDP expressed deep concern over the worsening economic crisis, skyrocketing costs of essential goods and services, the declining purchasing power of citizens, and the economic distress inflicted upon millions of families nationwide.
“It is disheartening that, during a time like this, numerous Nigerians are enduring frustration as they struggle to afford basic necessities for celebrating with their loved ones. Many are unable to express their affection by travelling to visit or share with family and friends, all due to the hardships and insensitive policies imposed by the All Progressives Congress-led government,” the statement lamented.
The party further criticised the current administration, stating, “It is heartrending that Nigerians are currently enduring the harshest economic hardships under the APC-led Federal Government, which continues to implement policies that exacerbate the suffering of the people, without providing verifiable relief plans.”
