President Tinubu laments, says FG’s spending on insecurity affecting other sectors

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has lamented over the adverse effects of allocating substantial funds to address the prevailing security challenges in the country.

Tinubu emphasized that the government’s focus on security spending adversely affects the availability of funds for other essential needs.

“Our spending on insecurity affects the availability of funds for other needs,” President Tinubu lamented.

Speaking at the 31/32 convocation ceremonies of the Federal University of Technology Minna in Niger state through a representative, Tinubu acknowledged the multifaceted security challenges facing the nation.

He pointed out the inevitable strain placed on the national budget and resources due to the ongoing efforts to enhance the safety and security of citizens.

President Tinubu assured the public that the government remains committed to preventing neglect in other vital sectors despite the financial pressures exerted by security concerns.

He pledged to ensure that crucial areas such as education are protected despite the difficulties of addressing security challenges.

“Our beloved country is facing security challenges on various fronts, and this situation affects the availability of funds for other needs,” President Tinubu remarked.

Tinubu also highlighted the government’s dedication to maintaining safe and conducive learning environments on university campuses.

He underscored the commitment to fostering industrial harmony within educational institutions, expressing a willingness to dialogue with university staff-based unions to resolve differences amicably.

While acknowledging that expectations may not have been met as quickly as desired, President Tinubu pointed to the administration’s commitment to revamping the entire education sector.

President Tinubu concluded by announcing the signing of the Students Loan Act, which is aimed at ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder students from pursuing higher education.

  1. Mr. President, you hold the key and you have joined us in lamentation without achieving the goal spending to provide security. If there is no headway, resign honourably as the inventors of democracy.
