President Bola Tinubu on Friday arrived in Lagos for a series of official engagements, shortly after witnessing the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The visit, according to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, comes ahead of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary celebrations
While in Lagos, Tinubu will meet leading figures in the private sector and top government officials. He will also inaugurate the remodelled National Theatre, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, as part of the Independence activities.
On Tuesday, September 30, the President will move to Imo State to commission several projects completed by Governor Hope Uzodimma.
Speaking earlier in Ibadan at Oba Ladoja’s coronation, Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration’s economic reforms were beginning to bear positive fruits
“Today, I am honoured to bring the cheering news that our economy has turned around and there is now light at the end of the tunnel,” he said.
He praised Nigerians for their resilience, saying the “support, endurance, and sacrifices of the past 28 months” had made the progress possible.
