President Tinubu to Return to Nigeria Today, Set to Reveal Ministerial List After Sallah

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to arrive back in Nigeria today, Tuesday, June 27, following his visit to London.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that his return is timed just before the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, also known as Sallah celebrations.

Sources from the presidency have confirmed that the Nigerian leader will head to his private residence in Ikoyi, Lagos, to observe the upcoming Sallah festivities.

“I am certain that he will return to Lagos tomorrow (Tuesday), not Abuja. That’s where he will observe Sallah,” the source said.

The sources mentioned that an advance team had already been sent ahead of the President’s arrival, ensuring that everything is prepared for his return.

During his stay in Lagos, Tinubu is scheduled to participate in the Eid prayers at the Obalende Muslim Prayer ground, located within Dodan Barracks, the former seat of the Nigerian government.

Although the Sallah holiday officially extends until Thursday, June 29, there are indications that Tinubu might extend his stay in Lagos until Sunday or Monday of the following week before returning to Abuja.

The President’s return comes at a time of uncertainty regarding his ministerial list, which is nearly complete and is expected to be submitted to the National Assembly.

According to insiders, Tinubu has personally selected a group of ministers heavily influenced by his close circle of Special Advisers.

A source, who spoke with The PUNCH, said, “I learned that Tinubu’s ministerial list is almost done. He kept a core of ministers to himself, heavily influenced by the kitchen cabinet of SAs. “The politicians are in ‘Bolekaja’ over the rest. It’s a slugfest now.”
