Presidential election petition tribunal: Atiku shares new video, expresses hope

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the last general election, Atiku Abubakar, has made some critical remarks after his appearance at the Court of Appeal in Abuja on Tuesday, August 1.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Atiku noted that today’s hearing is a critical step in the journey for justice at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

The former vice president expressed hope that the journey, which he believes started well, will end so.

His tweet read:

“Today, I made my appearance at the Court of Appeal in Abuja as we marked a critical step in our journey for justice at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal. It was a journey that started well, and I am hopeful it will end well.”

The tribunal had called on citizens to put the country in their prayers ahead of its final judgment in different petitions challenging President Bola Ahmed’s electoral victory.

The tribunal made the call after reserving its verdict in the petition filed by the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party and Atiku Abubakar against Tinubu and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The panel led by Justice Haruna Tsammani said while parties and Nigerians should “pray for Nigeria”, the judgment date will be “communicated to parties” later.
