Monday Okpebholo has reacted to the Supreme Court judgement upholding his election as the Governor of Edo State.

Okpebholo in a statement issued by Fred Itua, his chief press Secretary said now is the time for real governance to begin.

The governor also extended an olive branch to all his opponents, members and leaders of the opposition parties across the state.

He said elections and the legalities that come with the emergence of a winner have come to an end.

According to the governor, healing must begin for the sake of the people of Edo State.

He urged all political stakeholders and the opposition in the state to work with his administration in contributing to the task of building Edo State.

Itua said in the statement, “This definitive verdict is not merely a legal triumph—it is a solemn reaffirmation of the sacred mandate freely given by the people of Edo State. It signals the beginning of a fresh chapter rooted in unity, inclusiveness, and accelerated development.

“Governor Okpebholo renews his vow to lead with humility, compassion, and accountability. His administration remains fully committed to its developmental blueprint—prioritising security, infrastructure, education, agriculture, healthcare, youth empowerment, and job creation. The focus remains clear: to deliver tangible benefits that uplift lives and restore confidence in public leadership.”
