Newly admitted students of Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti in Ekiti State have been advised to take their studies seriously and avert all forms of indiscipline, charging them to key into the entrepreneurship programmes for them to be self-reliant and job creators after school, politics Nigeria reports.
Dr. Temitope Alake, the school rector also advised the students to do away of all anti-social behaviours capable of interrupting their studies.
In his words: “Entrepreneurship had become the mainframe of financial buoyancy, stability and wealth creation in the world at large and it is being pursued by the institution for over ten years through the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Vocational Studies (CEDVS).
Alake spoke during the matriculation ceremony held for about 10,000 students admitted for the 2022/2023 academic session into ND 1, HND 1 full time (morning) and ND 1, HND 1, part-time (evening) in Ado Ekiti at the weekend.
Speaking further, “Nigeria as a nation places high premium on its development which informed the formulation of policies to include entrepreneurship in the curriculum of all Tertiary Institutions in the country in order to infuse entrepreneurship spirit, mentality and skills in our youths right from school”.
The rector said the institution will not relent in its drive to produce industry-compliant graduates and fulfilled entrepreneurs aspiring to be job-creators rather than job-seekers.
