Reign of terror continues as terrorists establish stronghold on Kaduna-Abuja expressway forest

The notorious Ansaru terrorist group has reportedly taken control of the Birnin-Gwari forest along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway.

Vanguard reports that the Birnin-Gwari forest, situated on the critical Kaduna-Abuja Expressway, has become a hotspot for criminal activities, particularly kidnapping, as the Ansaru terrorists utilize the dense cover to carry out their nefarious operations.

The expressway, a major transportation artery linking the nation’s capital, Abuja, to Kaduna, has witnessed a surge in attacks, with innocent citizens falling victim to the reign of terror imposed by the group.

According to the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, the grim statistics for the first quarter of 2023 are alarming.

A total of 214 lives were lost due to attacks by terrorists, communal clashes, violent incidents, and reprisals across the state.

Additionally, 746 individuals were kidnapped in the specified areas, including Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Igabi, Chikun, and Kajuru.

The Ansaru terrorist group, known for its ruthless tactics and links to international terror networks, has entrenched itself in the Birnin-Gwari forest.

The strategic location allows them to efficiently carry out attacks, targeting unsuspecting Nigerians travelling on the crucial expressway.

  1. Your report is seriously misleading, birnin gwari is along Kaduna ilorin road and not along Kaduna- Abuja expressway , besides all the areas mentioned had been long abandoned for a while now and it’s not on Abuja/ Kaduna expressway, verify your news properly before raising false alarm.
