Remi Tinubu Finally Assumes Office As First Lady, Makes Interesting Statement

Days after her husband’s inauguration as the 16th president of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, on Monday, June 5, assumed office as Nigeria’s First Lady.

Mrs Tinubu, the immediate past senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District, arrived at the First Lady’s wing accompanied by her security aides.

On arrival, Mrs Tinubu was received by the permanent secretary of the State House, Mr Tijjani Umar and other Head of Units in the First Lady’s Office.

She was also guided on a tour of the first lady’s wing offices.

The president’s wife used the opportunity to applaud the immediate past government for leaving capable hands behind for her to work with.

She said:

“I am delighted to meet you all. I believe that as we transit into this new role that God has blessed us with, I will need your experience in serving our people. 

“We thank God that the outgoing administration was able to leave us in very capable hands.”

In his response, the permanent secretary expressed the readiness of the staff members in the unit to work with Tinubu.

“In due course, Your Excellency, you are going to be meeting with other members of staff because it is a privilege for them to know the boss they will be serving.”
