Reno Omokri Blames Buhari for Worsening Insecurity, Accuses Freed Terrorists of Fueling Chaos

Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has blamed the previous administration of Muhammadu Buhari for the current state of insecurity in Nigeria.

He claims the failure to recapture terrorists illegally released from Kuje prison in 2022 is directly linked to the rise in violence.

Omokri’s statement comes in response to claims by some politicians from the Buhari administration that insecurity has worsened under the current administration of President Tinubu.

Omokri specifically targeted figures like Isa Pantami, a former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, saying they lack the moral ground to criticise the current administration’s security efforts due to their silence on the Kuje prison incident.

He said: “Jailbreaks, airport invasions, and train bombings are now a thing of the past. Oil thefts have reduced, and our oil production has increased from what it was under Buhari to about 2 million barrels per day today.

“And no police stations have been destroyed in the Southeast since Buhari’s inept regime thankfully came to an end.”
