Reno Omokri, a former media aide to Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Nigeria’s former president, has threatened to reveal the “reckless acts” of Nasir El-Rufai, the governor of Kaduna State.
Mr Omokri, one of the spokesmen who remained loyal to former President Jonathan said Mr El-Rufai once referred to Southern Nigerian women as “whores” in an electronic mail to him.
Hence, he threatened to reveal the mail in an interview scheduled for 7 pm today.
“God sparing my life, I shall give an interview to a @DeutscheWelle, journalist, at 7 PM to discuss the email @Elrufai sent me, in which Southern Nigerian women are referred to as ‘whores’. Again, I urge El-Rufai to sue me if I am lying”, he wrote on Twitter.
Mr El-Rufai has been the Governor of Kaduna State since 2015. He was previously the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory from 2003 to 2007, and the director of the Bureau of Public Enterprises.
He is a founding member of the ruling All Progressives Congress. One of his sons was recently in the news for threatening to gang rape a twitter user.
