Surprise As Influential Labour Stakeholder Backs Tinubu’s Govt

The director-general of Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS), Ilorin, Issa Aremu, has expressed his support for the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Aremu believes that Tinubu’s government is aimed at bridging the skills gap amongst youths through mass vocational digital education.

During the opening ceremony of the 023 World Youth Skill Day organised by the institute in Ilorin, Kwara state on Monday, July 17, Aremu noted that the critical component of the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda of President Tinubu is youth employability through skills acquisition.

For this reason, he urged stakeholders in the labour market to work with the new APC-led government to train and retrain the youths for sustainable jobs and poverty eradication.

“As the world undergoes rapid technology, economic and social transformations, young people need the right skills. While the teachers and trainers stand at the forefront of these great global efforts and need to be well equipped to be able to deliver,” he said.

Other stakeholders at the ceremony like the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), National Directorate for Employment (NDE), and NYSC, highlighted the significance of youth empowerment through job creation for national development.
