Members of the #RevolutionNow movement have demanded the immediate resignation of President Muhamadu Buhari.
The group, led by the convener of the movement and former Presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, made this known during a protest at the United States Embassy in Abuja on Thursday.
According to Sowore, they are protesting the security and socio-economic challenges in the country and the ineptitude of President Buhari in tackling the said problems.
Also speaking, #BringBackOurGirls activist, Aisha Yesufu, condemned the Buhari government for failing to make the country move forward, adding that the economic situation was becoming unbearable.
Another member of the movement and Convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, said Nigerians were dissatisfied with the security and economic conditions in the country, stressing that “Nigeria is not working.”
The campaigners also sang solidarity songs and berated the government for failing to address the insecurity in the country.
Some of the banners with inscription carried by the protesters include, ‘Buhari has failed,’ and other placards which read, ‘Failed leadership has made Nigeria the capital of the world,’ and ‘#RevolutionNow’.
Other protesters who include Ariyo Dare-Atoye, Henry Shield, Adebayo Raphael, among others, criticised what they described as oppression in the country.
