Some group of women in Rivers State on Thursday paid a solidarity visit to Ngozi Odu, the suspended Deputy Governor of the state.

The women under the aegis of Rivers Women Unite for SIM and led by Sotonye Fulton visited Odu at her Port Harcourt residence.

During the visit, Fulton commended Odu for her humility, motherly leadership, and unwavering support for her principal, Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

Recall that Odu was suspended for six months alongside Fubara and lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly following the State of Emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu.

The president, following their suspension, appointed Ibok-Ete Ibas, a former chief of Naval Staff as the Sole Administrator of the state.

However, receiving her guest, Odu said she was happy the women were thoughtful enough to visit her.

She encouraged the women to ensure they continue to stand in the gap for peace, progress and unity in Rivers State.

Odu, while assuring the women of her continued support for the advancement of the welfare of women in the state promised to support the group whenever they call.
