Betty-Anyanwu Akeredolu, the wife of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, has expressed gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his significant role in repatriating Mr. Akeredolu’s remains from Germany.
Speaking during a visit by President Bola Tinubu to the late governor’s family in Owo, Betty-Anyanwu Akeredolu thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for his support.
“Coming today is a big deal because we are in a better atmosphere. I also express my profound gratitude to the southern governors for their immense financial contributions to the burial.
“Most especially, Lagos state governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who singlehandedly brought Aketi’s remains back to Nigeria.
“We appreciate this huge show of love, and we are grateful and forever indebted to him,” she stated.
President Tinubu, on a private visit to offer condolences, acknowledged the courage of the late Ondo governor, emphasizing that Akeredolu’s legacies will be remembered.
Earlier, Tinubu visited the palace of Olowo of Owo, where he described the late governor as a courageous leader who left a lasting impact on society.
